When eating foods rich in this or when taking oral medication, to ensure the correct absorption of iron, avoid the following:

Whole foods: if consumed, leave them to soak for an hour before cooking, removing the soaking water.

Foods of animal origin rich in iron:
  • White meat (lean): rabbit, turkey, chicken,…
  • White and blue fish: sardine, sea bass, anchovies…
  • Seafood: mussels, clams and natural cockles.
  • Eggs: chicken, quail…
Consume in moderation the lean parts of red meat (veal, horse, ox, lamb…), maximum one portion (125 g) per week.
